Includes:
ü Parent
Orientation
ü 32 hours
classroom instruction (DPS Handbook provided 1st day of class)
ü Drug and Alcohol
Awareness Program (DADAP)
ü Administration of
the learner’s permit tests and eye test
ü 14 hours in-car
instruction which will include prepping the student to take the driving test
at the Texas DPS
ü Registration and
use of the on-line drive time scheduling system
ü On-line tracking
of required parent driving (required with all students that get their permit
May 1, 2010 and after)
ü Completion
Certificate – Phase I (used to get student’s permit)
ü Completion
Certificate – full course (used to get student’s license and in
most cases allows a 10% discount on the student’s insurance)
ü Completion
Certificate – DADAP (can be used in most cases for an additional
5% discount on the student’s insurance for 2 years.) ** There is an extra
