TEEN
DRIVING EDUCATION PROGAM AT GREEN LIGHT DRIVING ACADEMY (GLDA)
NEW STUDENTS Please
read first: Letter to Parents and Students Green Light Driving
Academy (GLDA) offers a state-approved driver education course for
teenagers. The Texas Education Agency
(TEA) – the government agency that oversees driving education for teenaged
students, approves this course. COURSE AND TUITION FEE
INFORMATION Effective May 1, 2010, the tuition for
the full teen-age driver education course at Green Light Driving Academy is:

$420.00 –
classes held at our Grapevine and Coppell locations
·
$375.00 –
classes held in Trophy Club (Byron Nelson High School)
NOTE: There is an extra
but optional $15.00 charge for the DADAP certificate for the Trophy Club
location. The course includes:
ü Parent
Orientation
ü 32 hours
classroom instruction (DPS Handbook provided 1st day of class)
ü Drug and Alcohol
Awareness Program
ü Administration of
the learner’s permit tests and eye test
ü 14 hours in-car
instruction which will include prepping the student to take the driving test
at the Texas DPS
ü Registration and
use of the on-line drive time scheduling system
ü On-line tracking
of required parent driving (required with all students that get their permit
May 1, 2010 and after)
ü Completion
Certificate – Phase I (used to get student’s permit)
ü Completion
Certificate – full course (used to get student’s license and in most cases
allows a 10% discount on the student’s insurance)
ü Completion Certificate
– DADAP (can be used in most cases for an additional 5% discount on
the student’s insurance for 2 years.) ** There is an
extra but optional $15.00 charge for this certificate for the Trophy Club
location.
We also offer the “Classroom Only” phase of the course at a cost of
$320.00 for all locations. DISCOUNTS AND
COUPONS: Any discount
or coupon must be applied to the paid tuition at the time of
registration. Limit one discount or
coupon per customer. No discount, coupon or gift certificate accepted after
initial registration. NO ADDITIONAL
DISCOUNTS OR COUPONS CAN BE USED AT THE TROPHY CLUB LOCATION. CLASS REGISTRATION Registration for the course can
only be done by coming into one of our office locations (or at Byron Nelson
High School twice a month) and cannot be done over the phone or on-line on
the internet at this time. Registration for a class requires the completion of our contract and
payment of a minimum of ½ of the course fee.
A student cannot be registered or a class confirmed without both of
these items. We allow 36 students per class (30 for our Trophy Club location), so
