ABOUT THE TEEN DRIVING PROGAM

Please read first: Letter to Parents and Students

Green Light Driving Academy offers a state-approved driver education course for teenagers.  The Texas Education Agency (TEA) – the government agency that oversees driving education for teenaged students, approves this course.

The tuition for the teen-age driver education course at Green Light Driving Academy is $395.00.

There are no hidden or extra charges for the driver education course, with the exception of a $5.00 permit-processing fee that is collected and paid to the Texas Department of Public Safety (TX DPS) for processing the permit.

The course tuition pays for:

ü       Parent Orientation

ü       32 hours classroom instruction (DPS Handbook provided 1st day of class)

ü       14 hours in-car instruction

ü       Registration and use of the on-line drive time scheduling system

ü       All testing required for the Teen Driver Education Course

ü       Processing the learner's permit at the DPS

ü       Course Completion Certificate (DE-964)

We allow 36 students per class, so registration is handled on a “first-come, first-served basis”.

Registration for a class requires the completion of our contract and payment of a minimum of ½ of the course fee.   A student cannot be registered or a class confirmed without both of these items.

Registration can only be done by coming into one of our office locations and cannot be done over the phone or the internet.
